Evan is a partner of Junhe. Commencing his legal professional work since 2004, Evan is dual qualified in both mainland China and Hong Kong. Prior to private practice Evan worked in the judiciary for many years in charge of adjudication of civil and commercial litigation cases. Prior to joining Junhe, Evan practiced in the Hong Kong offices of a few internationally renowned law firms such as Deacons and Leob & Loeb. Evan has been recognized by China’s Ministry of Justice in the list of “One Thousand Foreign-Matter-related Lawyers”.
Evan's main practice areas are dispute resolution, corporate and M&A, energy and infrastructure. He has represented clients in cases in courts throughout China and domestic and foreign arbitration institutions. Relying on clear legal logic, rich experience in court appearances, and sharp responses during court trials, Evan pursues the maximum legal interests for clients. Thanks to his rich experience in multiple jurisdictions, Evan provides clients with full-process services from China to overseas in cross-border disputes. He has accumulated extensive experience in cutting-edge fields such as cross-border corporate control disputes, cross-border investment and financing disputes, cross-border divorce, cross-border inheritance, cross-border bankruptcy, cross-border asset recovery, parallel litigation, etc.
In corporate and M&A, Evan has advised domestic and overseas clients in various projects involving corporate mergers and acquisitions, overseas investment, international trade, overseas financing, international goods transportation, pledge of mining rights, overseas stock pledge, etc. He frequently provides clients with legal opinions on enterprise compliance, corporate governance, and asset restructuring.
In the field of energy and infrastructure, Evan provides legal services such as ESG due diligence and EHS compliance. He acts for clients in contractual and tort litigation, civil public interest litigation, and criminal litigation cases in association of environmental resources. Evan has advised large energy companies and handled complex litigation and arbitration cases such as international crude oil trading, public utilities projects, and international shipbuilding contracts.
