Joe is a partner of JunHe and is practicing law at JunHe Shanghai Office. He is also the co-head of JunHe M&A department.
Joe’s practice focuses on corporate and M&A, private equity/venture capital, foreign direct investments and Chinese company outbound investments.
Joe advises global and regional multinational corporate clients and private equity funds (and their portfolio companies) on their investments and M&A transactions in China (acting as acquirers or sellers), including control acquisitions public and private companies, minority investments, take-private, divestures, joint ventures, restructurings, liquidations and other cross-border transactions. He represents clients in a wide range of industries, including health care/life sciences, technology and artificial intelligence, traditional and emerging manufacturing, chemicals, real estate, consumer products, automobiles and retail.
Before joining JunHe in 2004, Joe worked with Sidley Austin at its Shanghai office from 1999.
Joe has been listed as a leading lawyer for M&A and Private Equity by various reputable international legal ranking publications such as Chamber and Partners Global, The Legal 500, International Financial Law Review 1000 China (“IFLR1000 China”), Asialaw Profiles, etc. He has also been recognized by IFLR1000 China as M&A Lawyer of the Year 2025, and by Asian Legal Business as Dealmakers of Asia 2023, China Top 15 M&A Lawyers 2020 and China Top 15 Rising Lawyers 2013. He has been shortlisted as FT Innovative Lawyer by FT Innovative Lawyers Asia-Pacific Awards 2025.
