Ms. Marissa Dong is a partner at JunHe, a leading Chinese law firm with an international outlook. Ms. Dong specializes in telecommunications and the internet, technology, data protection, e-commerce and corporate affairs. She provides comprehensive legal support focusing on digital operations for companies in industries such as retail, e-commerce, internet services, fintech, pharmaceutical and healthcare, and smart manufacturing. She began her career in corporate and M&A law, where she guided inbound investors through all stages of their operations in China, from market entry and business expansion through to acquisitions and setting up new presences.
Ms. Dong has assisted numerous companies and platforms in their establishment, acquisitions, licenses and permits, business collaborations, compliance, and vendor and crisis management. As one of the earliest legal practitioners in China to specialize in data compliance, she has assisted companies to establish comprehensive compliance systems, analyze data processing compliance, conduct cross-border transfer assessments and data breach management. Ms. Dong has assisted Chinese enterprises to navigate overseas data compliance in various jurisdictions alongside local lawyers.
