The International Bar Association (IBA) is holding its virtual annual conference, i.e., IBA 2020 Virtually Together Conference, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 27, 2020, attended by more than 10,000 attorneys around the world.
LI, Qi (Adam), our partner, spoke on the Preservation of Legal Privilege in International Litigation of IBA 2020 Annual Conference on Nov. 19, 2020 at 10 p.m. Beijing time at a panelist. He introduced the legal privilege under the PRC law, a relatively new concept developed in the past 10+ years in China, and compared it with the same concept in other jurisdictions.
Mr. Li joined a group of renowned experts in international litigations from the Netherland (Clifford Chance and Stibbe), the UK (Jenner Block, London), Canada (Bennet Jones) and India (AZB Partners). About 60 IBA delegates participated in this virtual seminar and the feedback was exciting, and attendants regarded the panel as “the first class.”
Mr. Li has been practicing for almost 30 years with top law firms in the PRC and the US, and has gained sophisticated experience in dealing with complicated projects. He has been named as a “leading lawyer” by Chambers, the International Financial Law Review, and the International Who’s Who of Mergers and Acquisitions Lawyers, etc. for his performance in M&A, general corporate, capital markets and private equity. As a trailblazer in the PRC, he was the key founder of a Red Circle firm earlier in his career and was honored as one of “China’s Ten Best Lawyers” by the Ministry of Justice of the PRC.
