On 14 March 2023, China Business Law (CBL), a leading legal media journal, announced its list of Rising Stars for 2022. Six JunHe partners were honored on the list:CAO, Xiang (Shawn), LEI, Tianxiao, SHANG, Shiming (George),Chris Tang,WANG, Kai and XU, Haoyue (Beverly).
The CBL Rising Star awards are given to young lawyers under the age of 40 selected from over 2,000 nominations provided by senior business leaders, corporate executives, legal professionals and lawyers following extensive research.

CAO, Xiang (Shawn) joined JunHe in 2014 and has acted as a lead counsel in many large M&A and investment and financing transactions. Mr. Cao has served many large domestic and multinational companies in the fields of energy and infrastructure, real estate, industrial production, information technology, and consumer goods. He attended domestic and international law schools and has been admitted to Chinese and New York State bars. This enables him to communicate efficiently with both domestic and international clients, understand their needs and provide actionable legal solutions. The general counsel of a large multinational corporation once commented that Mr. Cao is "creative, responsive and business oriented".

LEI, Tianxiaoo joined JunHe in 2012 and is based in our Beijing office. She has been practicing in the areas of offshore bonds, panda bonds, overseas listings, M&A transactions and private equity investments. Ms. Lei specializes in domestic and overseas bond projects and has completed a number of landmark panda bonds and offshore bonds projects. She has extensive experience in M&A and private equity/investment transactions and excels in terms of innovation and sectoral impact. Ms. Lei is a registered expert with the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors, was selected as a member of the Beijing Lawyers Association's pool of foreign-related lawyers and was named in the IFLR 1000 Women Leaders of the Year 2022 and a Rising Star Partner .

Mr. Shang joined JunHe in July 2011 and is based in the firm’s Shanghai office. He practices in the fields of capital markets, and investment and financing. He has expertise in A-share listings, overseas listings, private equity investment and financing, cross-border corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Shang has participated in many notable transactions including Primaries’ listing on the STAR Market, UCloud’s listing on the STAR Market, Xpeng’s dual listing on the New York Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, ZTO Express’ secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and Weimob’s listing in Hong Kong. ALB named Mr. Shang as one of the Top 15 Rising Stars 2022 in the Yangtze River Delta. Mr. Wang joined JunHe in 2016 and is based in the firm’s Beijing office. Prior to joining JunHe, he worked at a well-known foreign law firm for six years. Mr. Wang specializes in foreign direct investment projects and cross-border M&A transactions, and his practice focuses on industries such as automotives, petrochemicals and public transport. In the automotive OEM industry, Mr. Wang has advised multinational companies on the transformation of traditional gasoline-fueled vehicle manufacturers, and the establishment and consigned production activities of new-energy passenger car manufacturers. He has a full understanding of the industrial policies and corporate needs in China’s passenger car market and the ability to translate this knowledge into practical legal advice. Mr. Wang is a member of the foreign-related lawyer talent pool of the Beijing Lawyers Association and has been recognized as a Rising Star and a Recommended Lawyer in the areas of corporate and M&A by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

Ms. Xu was recognized as a Next Generation Partner and Key Lawyer by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2023.
