JunHe Partner Philip Kwok Selected as an ALB Asia Outstanding Dual-Qualified Lawyer in the Greater Bay Area 2025

2025.11.20

On November 20th, the renowned legal media outlet Asian Legal Business (ALB) announced its list of Outstanding Dual-Qualified Lawyers in the Greater Bay Area 2025. JunHe partner Philip Kwok was included on the list.

Since obtaining his Hong Kong lawyer qualification in 2008, JunHe partner Philip Kwok has focused on complex, cross-jurisdictional commercial litigation and arbitration, utilizing both common law and civil law to build a robust and efficient legal defense for domestic and international clients. In 2023, he was among the first to obtain the Greater Bay Area Lawyer practice license, becoming one of the few dispute resolution partners with dual practice qualifications in Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as (non-practicing) qualifications in England and Wales. This further expanded his service radius and gave him a comprehensive advantage in the regional legal services field.

In Philip Kwok 's practice dictionary, cross-jurisdictional is not merely a geographical concept but a deep integration of systems, cultures, business logic, and judicial thinking. He excels at applying Hong Kong common law and mainland Chinese law, forming a combination of strategies in key areas such as asset tracing, interim measures, and award recognition, thereby gaining valuable time and space for clients. When faced with complex challenges such as multi-jurisdictional parallel proceedings, evidence conflicts, and enforcement barriers, he provides actionable strategies within the shortest time period, earning him a reputation among peers as a "practical expert who turns uncertainty into measurable risk".

In the field of arbitration, partner Philip Kwok has independently represented clients in court multiple times, successfully dismissing jurisdictional objections and securing substantial preservation funds for clients, demonstrating precise control over procedures and deep insight into substantive disputes. Many of his cases  involve high-value targets, sensitive industries, and multi-layered offshore structures, where he balances commercial reputation and legal interests, earning long-term trust from his clients.

Every honor is a cornerstone for progress. The inclusion of Philip Kwok on the ALB list as an outstanding dual-qualified lawyer is a recognition of his past achievements in cross-jurisdictional dispute resolution. He will continue to leverage his unique advantages of bilingualism, multi-jurisdictional expertise, and multiple perspectives to "escort Chinese enterprises on their overseas journeys and safeguard their return", fearlessly navigating the Greater Bay Area and the broader blue commercial seas with stability and foresight.
