JunHe Partner Shen Feng Recognized as a 2025 ALB China Top 15 Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyer

2025.03.24

On March 24, 2025, the internationally renowned legal media outlet, the Asian Legal Business (ALB), announced its list of the Top 15 Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyers 2025, with JunHe partner SHEN, Feng making the list.

“We are witnesses, participants, and disseminators of the continuous development of bankruptcy law.” This remark by Ms. SHEN, Feng vividly reflects her eighteen-year legal career. When Ms. Shen chose to dedicate herself to this field In 2007, at the start of the implementation of Enterprise Bankruptcy Law, China’s corporate bankruptcy system was still in its infancy. Over the past eighteen years, Ms. Shen has accumulated extensive practical experience in bankruptcy restructuring and liquidation, out-of-court debt restructuring, and risk management for financial institutions. She has led and participated in the restructuring of listed companies like Hemei Group, Rongtai, and XGMA, substantial consolidated restructuring of companies like Huishan Dairy and Fangyuan Metal, and liquidation cases for Hantang Securities, Minfa Securities, and Dapeng Securities. With her rich professional knowledge and practical experience, she has helped numerous enterprises resolve crises and achieve success. She is also a pioneer in personal bankruptcy, leading her team in handling numerous cases in recent years, accumulating valuable practical experience in this emerging field.

Since joining JunHe’s Shenzhen office in 2019, Ms. Shen has worked hand in hand with JunHe’s Shenzhen bankruptcy team, achieving significant results. In 2024, JunHe’s Shenzhen office successfully advanced to the second-tier administrator roster of the Guangdong Provincial High People’s Court, a testament to her efforts and dedication. Ms. Shen also serves in various social roles, including as a legal expert to assess the repayment ability of personal bankruptcy debtors for the Shenzhen Bankruptcy Affairs Administration, a supervisor at the Guangdong Association of Bankruptcy Administrators, a director at the Shenzhen Association of Bankruptcy Administrators, and the chairperson of the Professional Training Committee. She has also been selected for the personal administrator roster of the Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court, and actively participates in and promotes the development of the industry.

Ms. Shen said in an interview, “A bankruptcy administrator must, above all, be someone with heart." Bankruptcy restructuring projects not only involve the application of the law but also the delicate balancing of multiple interests. Facing the diversity of stakeholders and the complexity of conflicts in bankruptcy projects, bankruptcy lawyers need to embrace different perspectives, listen to legitimate demands, coordinate and resolve conflicts, and communicate and negotiate to facilitate consensus and achieve win-win outcomes. Each case is a blend of commercial logic and legal wisdom, and only by being “mindful” can one find the “greatest common divisor”.

Through eighteen years of changing seasons, from the infancy of the system to the gradual formation of a framework, Ms. Shen has focused on bankruptcy law. This award is a recognition of her years of perseverance and dedication. In the future, amidst the waves of business challenges and the choices between collapse and renewal, Ms. Shen will continue to be a “ferryman” holding a guiding light and using her legal insight to help enterprises survive the winter and achieve success.
