Three JunHe Partners Named on CBLJ’s A-List 2023-24: The Visionaries

On December 12, 2023, China Business Law Journal (“CBLJ”) announced its A-List 2023-24: The Visionaries. Three JunHe partners HE, Fang, Janet Hui and YU, Yongqiang (YY) (in alphabetical order by surname) were named on the list.


This is the first time that The A-List awards have been granted in categories based on the qualifications and functions of recommended lawyers. The winners were nominated by Chinese and global in-house counsel, executives and senior lawyers.


HE, Fang (Partner)

Practice Areas: Foreign Direct Investment; M&A; Outbound Investment


Ms. He is a senior expert in outbound investment, regular company counseling and compliance, and cross-border and domestic investments and M&As. She has solid legal expertise and extensive experience in advising various enterprises. This is the second time that Ms. He has been recognized on The A-List. As a partner who has been honored multiple times as a Global Outstanding Lawyer and the highest-ranking lawyer in M&A and Governance by Who’s Who Legal, Ms. He has advised many award-winning projects. These include ChemChina’s acquisition of Pirelli which was recognized as the Deal of the Year 2016 by China Law & Practice, and the USD 3.6 billion  acquisition of the largest power company in Peru by Yangtze Power and other co-investors including Three Gorges Capital, which was recognized as the Deal of the Year 2020 by CBLJ, the Deal of the Year at the IFLR 1000 China Awards 2021, and the Impact Deal/Case of the Year at Asialaw Awards 2021.


Janet Hui (Partner)

Practice Areas: Antitrust and Anti-Unfair Competition; M&A


With more than 30 years’ experience in providing legal services to clients in different industries, Ms. Xu primarily specializes in antitrust, cross-border M&A, FDI and general corporate matters. She is qualified to practice law in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong, New Zealand and England, and has work experience at various international law firms. Ms. Xu is a well-known legal expert in antitrust with a diversified educational and cultural background, a global perspective and extensive local experience. She has been recognized many times previously as a Band 1 Ranked Lawyer in Competition/Antitrust by Chambers and Partners as well as a Leading Lawyer in antitrust matters by IFLR1000, The Legal 500 and Asialaw. Ms. Xu has also been named a Thought Leader in Competition by Who’s Who Legal and acts as the Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Antitrust Section. She is the first Chinese female lawyer to hold this position since the inception of the IBA’s Antitrust Section.


YU, Yongqiang (YY) (Partner)

Practice Areas: Capital Market; M&A; Private Equity, Venture Capital and Funds


Mr. Yu performs remarkably in areas such as domestic and overseas listings, bond issuance, M&As and restructuring and has advised on many projects which have been recognized as Deals of the Year. Mr. Yu has been ranked by leading legal directories such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and Asialaw for many years, and is a frequent inductee into IFLR’s Hall of Fame. He was named on the list of foreign-related legal talent by the Ministry of Justice as well as The A-List by CBLJ and has been recognized many times as the Dealmaker of the Year. Mr. Yu is an expert member of the registration meeting of the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII), a member of the Legal Committee of NAFMII, and a mediation consultant of the Investor Dispute Mediation Center of NAFMII. He is also a part-time professor at the School of Juris Master of China University of Political Science and Law and a legal practice tutor at Renmin University of China.
