Mr. Zhao’s practice includes patent prosecution and intellectual property related transactional matters. He has represented Chinese and foreign companies in a wide variety of intellectual property rights related matters such as patent drafting and prosecution, designing patent filing strategies, patent invalidation actions, administrative lawsuits, freedom-to-operate (“FTO”) analyses, patentability analyses, and patent due diligence review. Mr. Zhao has extensive experience in cross border technology transfers, including co-development and/or license of intellectual property in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, material science and medical devices.
Prior to joining JunHe, Mr. Zhao worked at Shanghai Hengrui Pharmaceutics and dealt with project feasibility studies, new drug applications and patent affairs.
Mr. Zhao graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Bachelor of Science (major in pharmacy and minor in law). He then earned a Master of Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focused on macromolecular drug delivery methods.
Mr. Zhao is a registered patent agent at the Chinese Patent Office and a licensed attorney in the PRC.
