Ms. Yu Wu initially joined JunHe in 2010. Previously, she worked at the Shanghai office of Perkins Coie LLP. In 2015 she moved to the United Kingdom to further her legal education. After graduating in 2016, Ms. Yu worked for Carpmaels & Ransford LLP in London, before rejoining JunHe in 2017.
Ms. Wu’s practice focuses on patent prosecution, patent due diligence and patent transactions. Her work involves technologies in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, material science and medical devices.
Ms. Wu has represented a large number of well-known Chinese and foreign biotechnology companies, universities and research institutions in various patent activities, including patent filing strategy design, patent drafting, international patent portfolio management, patent procurement, patent re-examination, invalidation and appeal, and patent infringement and validity assessment.
She has served a host of renowned venture capitals and private equity funds, conducted patent Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses, patentability analyses, and IP risk assessment for potential investees. Ms. Wu has frequently been recommended to the investees post investment to help further build up and strengthen their patent portfolio.
She has in-depth knowledge in technology licensing and IP exploitation and has advised clients in technology collaboration, transfer and licensing and provided legal services in technology agreement drafting, review and negotiation.
Ms. Wu has worked in both US and European law firms, gaining valuable experience in both US and European patent practice.
