JunHe Silicon Valley partner, Dr. James Zhu, was one of six speakers in the panel titled "The evolving Landscape of China's Pharmaceutical Industry" in BIO EUROPE 2015, which was hosted in the International Congress Center in Munich. Germany, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4, 2015. BIO Europe is the Europe's largest and most distinguished life science deal-making event serving the global biotechnology industry. This year, more than 3300 executives from early 60 countries participated in BIO Europe.

The panel addressed the opportunities in China which globally impact on multiple dimensions: market sales, new innovations, talent pools, R&D outsourcing, public and private source of capitals and entrepreneurial initiative, given that China's pharmaceutical industry has grown at an unprecedented speed along with its booming economy. The panel pointed out the drivers to sustain the continued growth and discussed whether "Innovated in China" get any closer in replacing "Made in China". The panel further elaborated the continued challenges and opportunities in capturing the growing market. The session was packed with audience interested in the Chinese pharmaceutical market.

Dr. James J. Zhu is the head of JunHe Silicon Valley Office and the co-head of patent practice group of JunHe. James' practice includes patent litigation, procurement, opinion, strategies, technology licensing, primarily focusing on life sciences, material sciences, medical devices, and electronics. James is a member of the State Bar of California and a patent attorney registered to practice before the US Patent & Trademark Office. The BusinessWeek elected James as one of most influential "sea turtles" (US returnees) in the Sino-American community. With seven academic years, Dr, Zhu earned Ph.D. degree from Caltech and JD/MBA from Columbia University.
