On March 6, 2026, the Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF (stock code: 3169) was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. JunHe served as the legal advisor to the fund manager.
The Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF is the first exchange-traded fund (ETF) to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that JunHe assisted as a legal advisor, and it is also the first index-tracking fund that JunHe helped establish.
The Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF is managed by Harvest Global Investments Limited (Harvest Global), and China Life Trustees Limited serves as the trustee. The Fund closely tracks the Solactive Harvest Tiger G2 Tech 50 Select Index (the Index), which comprises 50 leading technology companies from China and the United States, aiming to achieve a cross-market technology investment layout. The Index maintains approximately 62% Hong Kong stocks and 38% US stocks in regional weighting to ensure regional risk diversification. It sets weight limits for individual constituent stocks at 8% for Hong Kong stocks and 5% for US stocks to reduce the impact of individual stock volatility on overall performance.
The Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF is the first sub-fund under the Harvest ETF series. To date, The Harvest ETF series is a Hong Kong umbrella unit trust recognized under Section 104 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571) and it is a collective investment scheme that can be publicly sold in Hong Kong.
For local Hong Kong funds to be recognized by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), they must comply with the requirements of the Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds (the Code). For public funds in Hong Kong, the SFC has specific qualifications for the trustees, custodians, fund managers and auditors, as well as detailed core regulations on the investment scope and proportions. For specialized schemes such as money market funds, hedge funds and index-tracking exchange-traded funds (such as the Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF), there are additional requirements that may include the content of the sales documents, scheme names, reporting requirements, investment restrictions and indices.
As the legal advisor to the fund manager for the Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF, JunHe provided comprehensive legal services to Harvest Global, including: (i) drafting, revising, and finalizing the Hong Kong offering documents, trust documents, various related agreements and the SFC application documents, (ii) applying to the SFC for fund approval, (iii) responding to SFC inquiries regarding the fund content, index design, and the offering documents, (iv) coordinating with the trustees and the other intermediaries as lead counsel to ensure efficient project progress, and (v) collaborating with listing agents to complete the Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing application and pre-listing preparations.
JunHe's professional, meticulous and efficient work attitude, combined with its flexible and responsive service, effectively ensured the smooth progress of the project, earning the recognition and trust of the clients and intermediaries.
JunHe has closely collaborated with Harvest Global on multiple fund projects in recent years. In August 2023, JunHe assisted the company in launching its first Hong Kong open-ended fund company structure fund and in December that year, JunHe helped it launch the first tokenized fund by a Chinese financial institution in Asia. In October 2024 and January 2025, JunHe assisted Harvest Global in launching investment-grade bond funds and money market funds, respectively. These funds were recognized by the SFC and publicly offered Hong Kong open-ended fund company structure collective investment schemes. In November 2025, JunHe assisted Harvest Global in launching a diversified income fund, which was a recognized and publicly offered unit trust structure collective investment scheme. In March 2026, JunHe helped Harvest Global launch the first index-tracking exchange-traded fund (ETF) listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with JunHe as the legal advisor. This marked an important milestone in the collaboration between JunHe and the company and was a testament to their long-term partnership.
With great prospects ahead, JunHe and Harvest Global share the joy and honor of this achievement and we sincerely wish the Harvest China-US Technology 50 ETF continued success after the listing.
