In June 2025, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (Geely Holding) and its affiliated entities signed a transaction agreement with Renault S.A. (Renault) and Renault do Brasil. Geely Holding intends to acquire a portion of Renault Brazil's equity. Upon completion of the transaction, Geely will accelerate its expansion in the Latin American automotive market.
Geely Holding was founded in 1986 and entered the automotive industry in 1997. Its business encompasses the automotive industry and its upstream and downstream industrial chains, intelligent mobility services, green transportation, methanol-hydrogen ecosystems and digital technology. Its passenger car brands include Geely, Geely Galaxy, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo, Polestar and Lotus. Geely Holding's new energy commercial vehicle brand is Farizon. In 2024, Geely Holding ranked tenth in global automotive sales.
JunHe was responsible for completing the antitrust filing analysis in multiple jurisdictions worldwide, in collaboration with Renault's legal team. They handled the antitrust filing in China and coordinated with foreign lawyers to complete the local antitrust filings and negotiations. JunHe's team divided the work, advanced multiple lines of action, and maintained positive and effective communication with the client, Renault, Renault's legal team, local lawyers in multiple jurisdictions, and the various regulatory authorities. JunHe successfully obtained unconditional approval in all jurisdictions, earning high praise and trust from the client.
