Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (“SMBC”) recently completed the initial issuance of panda bonds of RMB 1 billion on the China Interbank Bond Market for a term of 3 years.
SMBC is the third Japanese company that has issued panda bonds in China. JunHe acted as the PRC legal counsel to the lead underwriters, Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, CITIC Securities, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (China) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China), responsible for drafting and negotiation of the underwriting agreement, review of the offering circular and other transaction documents. With its rich experience in providing legal service in relation to issuance of panda bonds and through efficient communication and close cooperation with all parties, JunHe assisted SMBC in its successful issuance of the panda bonds.
