Joe is a partner practicing in the Shanghai office.
Joe joined JunHe in 2004. He currently practices in the areas of private equity/venture capital, corporate and M&A, foreign direct investments. He is also a joint-coordinator of the corporate and M&A department at JunHe.
Joe has extensive expertise in the areas of private equity investments and strategic mergers and acquisitions in different industries. His services range from deal structure design, legal due diligence, preparation of transaction documents, negotiation, closing and up to post-closing matters. He has participated in mergers and acquisitions involving a wide variety of industries, including but not limited to pharmaceuticals and medical devices, TMT, real estates, foods, high-technologies, and automobiles. He has advised numerous clients in consummating many high-profile cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as private equity investments and venture investments with onshore and offshore structures.
Joe is also very experienced in foreign investments. He has represented numerous multinational companies in their green field investments and divestments in China, and provided advice to foreign invested enterprises on general corporate matters involved in the day-to-day operations in China.
Before joining JunHe, Joe worked with Sidley Austin at its Shanghai office beginning in 1999. Over that period, Joe provided legal advice to several Fortune 500 corporations and other multinational corporations on their direct investments, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters in China.
Joe has been honored as a Leading Lawyer for 2015 in the area of mergers and acquisitions by Asialaw Profiles, and as China's Top 15 Rising Lawyers 2013 by Asian Legal Business.
Joe is currently a visiting professor at the School of International Financial Law of East China University of Political Science and Law, and a part-time master tutor of KoGuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In addition, he has also published more than twenty legal papers on domestic and foreign periodicals discussing Chinese legal issues.
