Roy Sun (Sun Jiangang) is a diligent and reliable lawyer with strong business sense. He joined JunHe LLP in 2006, and focus on Corporate and M&A, Private Equity/Venture Capital, Capital Market, and NGO practice.
Sun has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, and private equity/venture capital investments including both equity and asset deals. He has a strong ability to provide all-round legal services in the course of an investment, ranging from deal structure design, legal due diligence, transaction documentation, negotiation, closing, completion of post-closing covenants, restructuring for IPOs, and other general cooperate services. He has assisted clients in completing many high-profile cross-border strategic acquisitions, private equity/venture capital investments, IPO and delisting deals.
In addition, Sun often advises international clients on foreign direct investment, and has provided legal services to dozens of multinational enterprises and NGOs with respect to negotiation with local government, land bidding, incorporation and restructuring of China subsidiary, liquidation and closure, contract review, compliance review, labor law advice, foreign NGO registrations in China, etc.
Sun has extensive experience in legal professions. Before joining JunHe, Sun served as a government official at Shanghai Public Security Bureau. Sun was appointed by BlueScope as its acting general counsel in China in 2011. He is appointed as an adjunct professor for LLM students by East China University of Political Science and Law, and a member of M&A practice committee by Shanghai Bar Association. Sun was awarded Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers by CLECSS in 2018 and China’s young elite lawyer by China Business Law Journal in 2020.
