JunHe Partners Adam Li, Fang Yi and David Liu are Recognized on the IFLR Asia Best Lawyers 2021 List


The International Financial Law Review (IFLR), a leading legal publication, recently released its IFLR Asia Best Lawyers 2021 list. JunHe partners LI, Qi (Adam)  LIU, Dali (David) and YI, Fang were named on the list, following their appearance last year.

The IFLR Asia Best Lawyers research was conducted over four months to select the top lawyers who have received accolades from their peers and clients for excellence in their respective fields, according to over 2,000 responses based on transaction data analysis and market research interviews.

Mr. LI, Qi (Adam) is an expert in Chinese M&A and foreign investment. He has assisted many multinational companies, entrepreneurs and investors in a number of intricate cross-border M&A, investment and financing, and IPO transactions. Mr. Li has expertise in both the Chinese and US legal systems, cross-cultural communication skills, and experience of working in multiple areas in China and abroad, including Shanghai, New York and Silicon Valley. Since the 1990s, Mr. Li has been consistently recognized as a "Leading Lawyer" in the areas of M&A, corporate law, capital market, and private equity by the IFLR and International Who's Who of M&A Lawyers. In 2019-2021, Chambers Global Law Guide named Mr. Li a “Sage of the Industry”; in 2021, the Legal 500 admitted Mr. Li to its “Hall of Fame”. Chambers Global Legal Rankings 2021 said of him: "Mr. Li is a highly regarded M&A practitioner who remains active on the front lines despite his seniority. One client who was impressed with him praised his “unique insight into the setting of transaction structures”.

Mr. LIU, Dali (David) began his practice in 1989, specializing in banking & finance and M&A. He has represented many domestic and foreign banks in structuring, negotiating, drafting and issuing legal opinions on a large number of financing projects. He has also assisted many international financial institutions in entering the Chinese market and designed new products for them to meet Chinese regulatory requirements and market changes. In recent years, Mr. Liu has been responsible for a large number of transactions involving financial institutions and has represented many international financial institutions in their investment into domestic banks, the establishment of joint venture fund companies, auto finance companies, factoring companies and other projects. Mr. Liu has represented numerous multinational companies to enter the Chinese market, set up companies and conduct acquisitions and mergers; he has also represented Chinese companies to go abroad and conduct investments and acquisitions overseas. With his remarkable reputation and ability, Mr. Liu has been named a “Sage of the Industry” by the Chambers Asia Pacific Law Guide and the Chambers Global Law Guide and since 2019 has been listed as an “Elite of the Industry" by Asian Law Profiles.

Ms. YI, Fang was one of the earliest Chinese lawyers to enter the public infrastructure field to provide legal services and has always maintained leadership and representation in this area. For over ten years, Ms. Yi has led and participated in many large-scale infrastructure projects at the national or municipal level. She has practical experience in the development and financing of projects involving urban rail transit, natural gas, water, power plants, new energy and environmental protection, and has a deep grasp of the ever-changing market, transaction patterns and compliance supervision. Ms. Yi has been widely regarded by clients as someone who “knows the industry, the law and can provide solutions”. While maintaining a leading position in the domestic infrastructure market, Ms. Yi has also been extensively involved in overseas infrastructure projects. She led a number of anti-dumping/countervailing lawsuits by Qingshan Holdings Group and the “going out” projects of Italy 500MW, Mexico 350MW, and the UK 440MW ground-mounted centralized photovoltaic project, in which Chinese lawyers played an important role. Since 2013, Ms. Yi has been consistently ranked by Chambers as a top lawyer in both the Energy & Natural Resources and Projects & Infrastructure practice areas both globally and in the Asia Pacific region, and was named one of "ALB China’s Top 15 Women Lawyers" in 2017 in recognition of her outstanding contribution as a representative of female lawyers in her field.
