Before joining JunHe in 2013, Ms. Yuan graduated from Peking University and Hong Kong University with a double master’s degree.
Ms. Yuan specializes in the areas of foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions and internet, data privacy and cybersecurity law. She has provided services to leading multinational and foreign invested enterprises, leading Chinese state-owned enterprises as well as private Chinese companies, across a wide range of industries.
Ms. Yuan advises clients on compliance projects regarding the Cybersecurity Law of the PRC and the General Data Protection Regulation in EEA. This includes cross-border data transfer analysis, data privacy practice due diligence as well as formulation of data protection policies. She provides practical and feasible legal advice to her clients with her deep insights into PRC law.
Ms. Yuan also provides clients with a full set of legal services related to digitalization, including drafting and negotiation of high-tech related agreements (for example, cloud services, software customization and development), advising on projects of electronic signatures, data center, autonomous driving, Internet of vehicles, blockchain and other high-tech projects.
Ms. Yuan also advises clients during cross-border administrative investigations, pending litigations, internal investigations and other related matters in various industries such as financial services, automobiles and manufacturing.
Ms. Yuan has actively participated in academic research and has written dozens of legal updates regarding data privacy legislation for JunHe’s legal research briefing bulletins.
