Mr. Gong joined JunHe in 1993 as a partner.
Mr. Gong has provided legal services to numerous multinational corporations in a variety of industries in China including financial services, power, mining, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, media, insurance and construction. Other than providing counseling services, he has represented clients in arbitration, litigation and other legal proceedings as legal counsel or as an expert witness. Mr. Gong's formal legal as well as business training has made his services especially valuable to his clients.
Before joining JunHe in 1993, Mr. Gong worked at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco for over two years in the late 1980s, where he primarily worked on corporate and investment matters.
Mr. Gong worked for three years in the mid-1980s at the Department of Treaties & Law at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations & Trade (now Ministry of Commerce). While at the Department, in addition to examining and approving major foreign investment contracts, Mr. Gong also participated in drafting of a number of foreign investment related regulations and negotiating on behalf of the Chinese government on bilateral investment treaties with more than a dozen foreign countries.
