Ms. Xiong Tao and Ms. Zhong Jie (Jenny) Join JunHe as Partners

JunHe is delighted to announce that Ms. Xiong Tao and Ms. Zhong Jie (Jenny) joined the firm as partners.  Ms. Xiong works at JunHe’s Shanghai office, and Ms. Zhong works at JunHe’s Beijing office.


Ms. Xiong focuses on corporate and M&A, private equity, venture capital and outbound investment. Before joining JunHe, Ms. Xiong worked for over eight years as a partner at two Chinese law firms in Shanghai, where she specialized in private equity and venture capital investments, as well as cross-border mergers and acquisitions.  She also practiced for many years at K&L Gates LLP in the United States and O’Melveny & Myers LLP in Shanghai in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment and venture capital financing.  Before becoming a practicing lawyer, Ms. Xiong worked as a lecturer-in-law at the law school of Renmin University of China.


Ms. Xiong has extensive experience in advising multinational companies in their investments in China as well as cross-border merger and acquisition transactions.  She also has broad private equity and venture capital experience that ranges from advising on fund formation, representing funds in early and growth stage portfolio equity or debt investments, as well as representing fund and portfolio companies in their complex restructuring and exit transactions.


Ms. Zhong specialises in various fields relating to FDI, cross-border green-field investments, M&A and corporate restructuring. She also has experience in the areas of corporate governance and compliance, employment law, cyber security and personal information protection.

 

Ms. Zhong has accumulated extensive experience in corporate legal affairs and major M&A transactions for over 20 years. Moreover, she has been researching and practicing in the areas of telecommunications, the Internet and information technology, life science, clean energy, real estate, logistics and industrial manufacturing. Prior to joining JunHe, Ms. Zhong worked at numerous leading Chinese law firms as a partner and also served as the lead in-house legal counsel for several multinational companies including Nokia, Motorola and Vestas in China.

 

Ms. Zhong has gained qualifications in both law and business administration and has a good command of English and French. She holds a MBA degree from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) and a Master of Law degree from the Institute of International Law, China Foreign Affairs University. Her multi-disciplinary training and cross-industry in-house work experience has enabled her to provide clients with holistic, practical and effective legal services.
