The Bureau of Policies and Regulations of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (“SASAC”) of the People Republic of China issued a notice to all Chinese state-owned central enterprises on April 27, 2017, publishing its Panel of Legal Experts for the Prevention of Overseas Legal Risk Expert for the Chinese State-Owner Enterprises (“SOEs”). Ms. Christine KANG, a partner of JunHe LLP, was invited to serve as the legal expert on the SASAC Panel.
SASAC has established the Panel of Legal Experts for the Prevention of Overseas Legal Risk for the purpose of giving full play to the overall advantages of foreign-related talents and implementing in a thorough manner the prevention of overseas legal risks for the Chinese state-owned central enterprises. The Panel is comprised of three working groups, Ms. KANG is invited to serve as legal expert in the working group of foreign-related legal affairs, where she is the only legal expert from a law firm.
Ms. Christine KANG practices at JunHe’s Beijing office. Prior to joining JunHe, she practiced at international law firms headquartered in the United States and the U.K. for many years. She worked with China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) for eight years prior to her private practice. Ms. KANG has significant experience in resolving cross-border disputes. She currently sits as arbitrator with major international arbitration institutions including CIETAC, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association, the ICC Court of Arbitration, and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center. She is also the only Chinese representative of FraudNet, a leading anti-fraud/asset recovery network established by the International Chamber of Commerce. Recently, Ms. Kang was named by Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration - Future Leader 2017 as “world’s leading arbitration specialist” and by Who’s Who Legal - Asset Recovery 2016 as “world leading asset recovery lawyer”.
