Recently, JunHe assisted Goldstone Investment in completing the establishment of the SAIC Goldstone Innovative Manufacturing Industry Fund. The initial size of the fund is RMB 6 billion and it is jointly funded by the SAIC Group, an investment company affiliated with the Wuxi High-Tech Zone, and CITIC Securities Investment. Goldstone Investment Group Limited (“Goldstone Investment”), is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CITIC Securities. Goldstone Investment acted as the general partner together with an investment platform affiliated to the SAIC Group. It also acted as the fund manager. The fund focuses on quality investment opportunities in innovative manufacturing sectors related to the automotive industry chain and intelligent manufacturing. This includes high-end equipment, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent network connection, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, Industrial Internet and information security.
As the legal advisor to Goldstone Investment, JunHe participated in the whole process of the preparation and establishment of this fund. This included assisting the client in designing and optimizing the fund structure, drafting a full set of legal documents for the establishment of the fund, designing and constructing the management team’s follow-on investment platform, and the fund settlement and recording. Throughout the course of the project, the project team accurately grasped the risk preferences and commercial demands of the different fund partners. The project team balanced and coordinated the interests of all parties, reflecting JunHe’s professional, rigorous, pragmatic and efficient legal style.
